Stephanie Sanford

Steph and her niece
Stephanie's love for the people of Kosovo first began in the year 2000 through a trip through the Balkans.  Then in 2001, she moved to Ferizaj, Kosovo to help with a community development center.  During her 3 1/2 years there she lived with a Kosovar family, learned their language (Albanian), and developed close relationships with  many wonderful Kosovars.  Her passsion to see the lives of the Kosovars change did not end there.....Now as a English language professor, she enjoys teaching at the Kosovo English Camps in the summers.  "My ability to speak the Albanian language is not as good as it used to be, but I definitely can still use my Albanian ability to build relationships with the students.  Plus, having lived with a Kosovar family for 3 1/2 years has definitely given me insight into their culture and worldview".
